the LITTLE things july 4th

LITTLE daily lists

1.  patriotic songs that give you goosebumps.

2.  the people who are fighting for our freedom and the freedom of others.

3.  fireworks to music.

4.  big, gold, perfectly circular fireworks that feel like they will reach all the way down to you.

5.  that one straggler firework that goes off after the finale is supposed to be over.

6.  knowing that some kid somewhere in the neighborhood will be setting off a firework all night because the lure of a firework just doesn’t get old.

7.  watching soldiers be reunited with their families on t.v.

8.  when you can feel the firework boom in your chest.

9.  thinking “ooooh those are my favorite” about every firework that goes off.

10.  feeling so blessed for all the liberties we are granted in the USA.

    1. Jeremy surprising me with a visit this weekend (I was feeling lonely and he definitely cheered me up)
    2. Watching fireworks while laying on a dock.
    3. Searching my phone for games to play while we were waiting and finding Mancala.
    4. Re-learning how to play a game you played when you were little.
    5. Restaurant.com – especially 80% off!
    6. Chocolate lava cake – and Jeremy not liking it so I got to eat the whole piece 🙂
    7. Public pools – with TWO slides and a lazy river.
    8. Speedway 44 oz drinks for $0.89!
    9. My alarm clock that re-sets itself when the power goes out so I don’t oversleep (power went out this weekend for some odd reason!)
    10.Being able to park behind my house so I have a short walk to my apartment.

    1. Helping a close friend out during a difficult time in her life
    2. Taking the dogs on a short walk while listening to all of the fireworks
    3. Quotes from the movie “It’s Complicated” with my SIL
    4. Visiting husband at the fire dept. for the holiday
    5. Spending the holiday with family
    6. The smell of a clean house
    7. Looking at our wedding pictures and getting teary-eyed!
    8. Toby confused over the noise the fireworks make
    9. The quote, “What happens in Hawaii stays with you forever”
    10. Waking up this morning to figure out my dream wasn’t true-whew!

    1. doing a silly VBS song/dance routine in church today
    2. listening to a very talented singer sing God Bless America (Yeah Michael)
    3. my dad asking me to drive him to Target because he wants to ride in my new car
    4. dropping off treats to some of my favorite firefighters!
    5. the crazy environment that happens when all 5 dogs are together
    6. family dinners (even though we were missing two…Brandon and Jill…hey someone has to save lives on holidays)
    7. movie night with my sister-in-law…loved It’s Complicated
    8. quotes from movies that make you laugh time and time again
    9. the greeting that my dad gave Danielle today
