meghan’s LITTLE things

your LITTLE things

ntlt friday friends

meet my sister meghan.

me :: i’m running late. ugh. i am trying so hard to be on time but i am running late. i forgot about an email i had to send and then i had to turn around because i forgot that i told you i would bring you that shirt. i’m on my way. but i’m late.

meghan :: it’s fine. relax.

this is pretty typical of a conversation between my sister meghan and me. she is always on time. early actually. i am never on time. i asked her on tuesday if she wanted to share her LITTLE things this week and she asked when i needed them. i said by thursday. ten minutes later they were in my inbox. reliable. loyal. on top of it. that is my sister meghan.

meghan was born when i was five years old. to be honest, i don’t remember. i wish i did. i have vague memories of her being home, in her bouncer seat, and wanting to hold her. my mom would let me sit and hold her but i wasn’t allowed to stand up and walk around with her until i was eight. i remember that. i felt so old and grown up, taking care of her.

i don’t remember arguing with meghan when we were little. i know sisters do that, but i honestly don’t think we did. i remember matching dresses, made by my mom. meggie wore dresses most days. she liked to dance around the family room in them, twirling and curtsying. i remember swinging, playing outside, swimming, making up gymnastics routines, and doing her hair. we both have crazy, curly hair and i used to help her tame hers. no one, mind you, helped me tame mine.

it’s interesting to try to figure out when meghan became one of my very best friends instead of just my sister. you know all those quotes about being sisters by chance and friends by choice. that is totally us. if she wasn’t my sister, i would absolutely choose meghan as a friend {hopefully she would choose me too}.

meghan is easy to be around. she is no fuss. she is brutally honest, and i appreciate that about her. she is a perfectionist about different things than me, so we balance each other out. she is ridiculously smart and funny, especially when she is talking about herself. she is selfless and such a thoughtful, loving aunt. she is always the first one to volunteer to babysit. she always answers her phone, or calls back within five minutes. she is dependable. she gives great, practical advice. she’s creative {even though she would say she isn’t} and girl sure can run with a theme for a party.

if i could hang out with meghan every day, i would. i like her and value our friendship that much…and she’s sharing her LITTLE things today for

ntlt friday friends

welcome meggie! thank you for noticing and sharing.

here is meghan’s list for 11.4.16

1.  christmas decorations in the store. i know, i know, it’s too early for christmas decorations. i tell myself that every year but it doesn’t stop me from smiling every time i see them!

2. embroidered things. and having an embroidery machine that makes it so easy.

3.  contests. costume contests. guessing contests. all contests! i think my competitive streak is gone but then i enter a contest and it comes right back.

4.  random texts during the day, just saying hi.

5.  group texts. so many people hate them, but i love them. helps me feel connected to all of the people i love, all at once.

6.  looking through old pictures to see how much or how LITTLE people have changed.

7.  diet coke.

8.  trying new restaurants. and being able to walk to restaurants.

9.  being able to leave work a LITTLE early.

10.  coming home to a straightened house that my husband worked on when he got off work earlier than me. and having a husband that will straighten without being asked.

11. bonus LITTLE thing :: the LITTLE things. i seriously look forward to my email every monday, wednesday, and friday. “what will be on the list today?” i wonder. i am honored to share mine today!

{i swear, i did not pay her to say this. meggie is my most loyal blog follower. if something is off, she calls me right away to let me know. or i get a text from her asking about a LITTLE thing. if you want to stay in touch with the LITTLE things too, subscribe with your name and email. i promise, i don’t even know how to send spam, just LITTLE things, and i’d love to notice with YOU!}

happy noticing!
