meet bridget
at one point in my life, i thought socializing required dressing up. thank goodness those days are over. now, i do most of my socializing out on the driveway. as the kiddos play with chalk and ride their bikes within their designated house boundaries, i stand around solving the world’s problems with my neighbors. it is one of my favorite extracurricular activities. someday, when i go back to work in the real world, i just might have to add it to my resume.
out on the driveway is exactly where i met my friend bridget. we hadn’t been in our house long and i’d been wondering when we might meet the neighbors across the street. i quickly learned she was a school counselor and was excited we had something in common. i noticed right away how her daughter went out of her way to show kindness to E, even though he was younger. meeting bridget and her family further solidified our belief that we were in exactly the right place for our kids to grow up surrounded by positive examples.
bridget has an honesty about her that i so appreciate. she is thoughtful, gets things done, smart, witty, and loyal. and she can really tell a story. i could listen to her stories all day. my kids think she has the coolest things at her house. they love to go to mrs. bridget’s and eat cheeseballs and play in her basement. and i cannot tell you how many things she’s brought over to our house “just because they saw it and thought of us.” her generosity is humbling.
i am so blessed to call bridget my neighbor and more importantly my friend and i am so excited to have her share today for
ntlt friday friends
welcome bridget!

4. the straight lines when my husband runs the vacuum or mows the lawn, as opposed to the not so straight lines when i do these jobs.
5. how everyday my daughter wakes up happy, smiling, and excited for whatever the day may bring – and how i cannot wait to see her each morning and share in her excitement.
6. having neighbors who we can count on and who are always looking out for us – raising a child really takes a village and we are blessed to have so many wonderful people in our village.
7. ALL of my students – being an elementary counselor is the best job EVER.
